About

Den Blah is a rebuttal of the endless complaints about living in The Hague (also affectionately known as “The Blah”, “The Plague”, etc.). It’s a collection of The Hague’s greatest treasures, and a lifestyle guide to this city at its most fabulous. It’s also a revelation of the most valuable discoveries beyond, but within reach of, this city’s borders. Bottom line: It’s about enhancing the quality of the lives of those who have to live here, and sharing the secrets of those who love to live here.

Den Blah is brought to you by Sheila Paylan (from Montreal) and Avideh Moussavian (from New York City and Cincinnati), two expats who live in The Hague and who have learned to love it.

Avideh

Sheila

    Hello!
I’m an acquaintance of Kyle’s (ICTR) and recently moved to the Hague for a summer gig. Just wanted to say I’ve greatly enjoyed your blog. Looking forward to checking out some of the features (particularly Rotterdam and the Humanity House).
    Cheers,
    Siena

    Hi Girls,

So good to find you united here and to discover your beautiful Den Blah! Avideh, It feels like I found you when we both just got here, then lost sight and am now finding you again. I am very happy about that and hope to continue in this direction :) . Sheila we are still just messaging but we will get there I am sure.

On Queen’s Day (my first day in a crowd since a few months) I discovered a beautiful back garden of a nice cafe just off FrederikHendriklaan. I could find it again but unfortunately my memory wasn’t functioning then yet heheheh so I will leave to the curious to find the little pearl I am talking about.

Till soon on this blog and in person I hope
    Yael
